In the year 2012 two teams participated in the SAE Aero Design West Competition, taking Aero VJTI a step ahead.Team Vihang consisting of thirteen Mechanical Engineering students bound tightly by the passion of aviation were one of the first teams from India to participate in the Advanced Class of the SAE Aero Design West competition.Also the team won 1st prize in Oral Presentation and stood 6th overall internationally.
